A Dark Victorian Wedding

With the spooky season upon us… Courtney and Geddy, our favorite dark couple, chatted about the decisions that went into styling their perfectly dark October wedding. Courtney tells us that she would describe it as a modern play on a dark victorian aesthetic.

“We used a variety skulls, potions bottles, candle sticks and branchy trees to create table settings and add our touches around the venue. We used different textures from creepy cloth and lace to enhance the already ornate furniture and setting of the venue. One of the most important things was having many candles! We used black flickering LED candles (over 100 of them) and purple fairy lights to bring the aesthetic together. Because we didn’t have any matching sets, every piece we used was unique and tied it all together to create a fluid experience.”

“I always knew I wanted the whole wedding experience but I wanted to make sure that our wedding was unique and focused on throwing a party that celebrated who Geddy and I are. We both love a dark aesthetic and purple is our favorite color. We keep a gothic vibe year-round in our home and love to go Halloween decor hunting together each fall. So I latched onto the idea of a “Til Death” themed wedding and we built our decor and experience around that idea. Truly, the inspiration came from Geddy and I’s personal taste and we grew it into our wedding dream.”

We’ve said it before and we will say it again… making your wedding as unique as you are is the surefire way to have a perfect wedding day!
