Being a Bride: Advice from an Engaged Event Manager

Omaha Event Group’s Event Manager, Katie Duggan is engaged! After planning weddings for countless brides…it’s time for her to plan her own special day.

Katie Duggan

is deep in wedding planning season with her clients.

But, we had to steal her away for just a few moments to chat about how planning weddings for Omaha Event Group has affected her own wedding plans. Engaged since 2020, she is ecstatic to finally be in the year of her wedding. The dress has been altered, the food selected, and she is ready to celebrate!

“Stressing the small stuff is not worth it!”

…has been her greatest takeaway from the unique experience. “It's so easy to put so much focus and energy into how the dessert table will look,” she notes, “but the reality of the day is you might not even walk past the dessert table!”

Instead, she motivates her clients to focus on the moments. Her favorite moment? The grand entrance. It’s a moment of triumph for couples; after months of planning, late-night meetings, and stress they can finally bask in the well-deserved joy of their wedding day! She encourages her clients to “take a moment to take everything in…this is one of the few days all your closest friends and family are all together in one place and it goes by way too fast.”

Katie, from us to you, we wish you the most special day! Remember to take deep breaths and enjoy the moments that will go by too fast.

With Love,
the Omaha Event Group
