Disposable Cameras vs. Polaroids vs Photo Booths at Weddings

Capturing lasting moments on your wedding day is an absolute MUST. So, how will you preserve these once-in-a-lifetime moments? Let’s explore the different options available and help you find the one that best fits your style, needs, and budget!

DISPOSABLE CAMERAS

Disposable cameras are a very fun way to involve your guests to contribute to your wedding day. You could get a bulk amount of cameras and spread them around your venue. Have people take photos of each other! Encourage them to take photos of you and candid photos of people enjoying the moment.

Keep in mind, disposable cameras take a longer time to develop. So if you want to look at these photos immediately after your wedding, designate someone to take photos on their phone or find another way to take pictures. Disposable cameras do have a specific vintage look that I love, so weigh the pros and cons! (May I also suggest our Omaha Leo Ballroom if you are looking for vintage charm. )

Polaroids

I absolutely LOVE the idea of having a polaroid camera guestbook. I have the absolute worst memory in the entire world. So having photos of families with their outfits looking happy on my wedding day in my guestbook is a must. You can have one, two, or more polaroid cameras depending on your guest count. Your guests take pictures, tape their developed photo onto your guestbook, and sign it. Another way to have your guests involved in capturing moments of your special night!

I’d suggest you buy a decent amount of film, and even a backup camera. At a wedding, my partner and I were the first to take a photo on the camera and it jammed! We couldn’t fix it. Thankfully it was at the beginning of the reception so we made a quick trip to Target and came back with a new camera for the newlyweds. So, if you want to stay safe, maybe buy a backup…

Photo Booths

Having a photo booth at your wedding will create an incredibly fun atmosphere! It’s not only fun for the people taking pictures, but also the people watching those taking pictures. Whether it be a serious pose or a silly one, your guests are going to enjoy interacting at a photo booth. I love when parties provide silly little glasses or signs! I promise your photo booth will be booked and busy on your wedding night! Our greenery backdrop is a fan favorite at our Omaha Garden Room.

Now that you’ve picked a way to capture these moments, imagine the feeling you’ll get when you go back to see all the beautiful photos you have of your special day. You’ll appreciate looking back at this night full of love.
