Creating a Kid-Friendly Space at Your Wedding
Kids need entertainment. When have you ever seen a young kid intently watching a first dance or paying close attention to the speeches?
So, kids at your wedding. Yes, or No? For some, this is easily a no, while for others it's absolutely! For those that will be having kids at their wedding, what are ways that you can create a kid-friendly space at your wedding? Let’s talk about it!

Designing a Kids Zone
Imagine having a space where you can hang out and talk about your favorite things with your friends! While adults normally mingle with their table, it’s harder for kids to interact. So, why not create a “Kids Zone.”
In this zone, you can add different activities and coloring books. Depending on the age group, you can also include crafts or even board games! This will surely keep kids entertained for hours on end. As well as keep kids in a specific area for parents to easily keep watch instead of having to run around and catch them. At Omaha Design Center, you’ll find a perfect spot for the kiddos!

Dress-Up Photo Booth
Lots of weddings have photo booths at their weddings. As much as adults enjoy the process as well, think about how fun it would be for kids to have a dress up station and take pictures! They could have things according to your theme, such as snowmen for a winter wonderland wedding or sunflowers and scarecrows for a fall wedding! Whatever it may be, the kids will have fun dressing each other and taking silly pictures! A perfect backdrop is our black shimmer wall at Omaha Design Center!

Entertainment Options
There are lots of different ways that you can keep a group of kids entertained. Consider what will be the best option for the group of kids you’ll be hosting. For example, you could hire a balloon artist or magician to put on a show! Face painting could be another option if you’re willing to take that risk. I personally wouldn’t pair kids with paint at my wedding. Quiet kids may prefer a Movie Corner with comfy seating where they can feel comfortable. With different options, a kid will feel comfortable and have a space where they can enjoy your wedding!
Dining Table
One fun way to make the kids feel part of the celebration is by creating a special kids’ table! At this table they could have food that they might enjoy more, as well as small activities and snacks while they wait for dinner to arrive. I don’t know many kids that enjoy having seared salmon for dinner. Personally, my nephew would opt for chicken nuggets.

Whether or not to invite kids to your wedding is entirely up to you. If you decide to include them in the celebration, consider ways to help them enjoy the day as much as the adults. By incorporating some of the ideas we’ve discussed, you can create a memorable experience for everyone, including the little ones.
