Meet the Owner: Brook Hudson
At Omaha Event Group, we are proudly a women-owned and operated business. Owner, Brook Hudson, leads a team of over 100 employees who host over 300 yearly celebrations in Omaha at venues: Omaha Design Center, The Garden Room, Empire Room, and Leo Ballroom.
Brook is a cum laude graduate of the Journalism program at the University of Arkansas, where she majored in Advertising and Public Relations. After graduation, she held positions as Communications Director for the American Heart Association and Marketing Director for Creighton’s College of Business, where she also earned her MBA.
Brook is a former Miss Nebraska and competed in the nationally televised Miss America pageant in 2004. Much of her approach to producing and growing Omaha Fashion Week, the nation’s fourth-largest fashion event, came from her experiences as a pageant contestant. The Omaha Design Center has hosted these bi-annual fashion showcases since 2016, and has been an established event in Omaha for 18 years. With an extensive background in pageantry and other organizations, Brook has 30 years of experience in planning and leading events.
In her spare time, she volunteers for her home parish and the Lauritzen Gardens Guild. She is mom to two children, Charlotte (11) and Grahame (4). When she grows up, she hopes to be a baker/lounge singer/talk show host. And by lounge singer, she means the kind that sprawls out on a grand piano in a smoky dive bar with a mic in her hand.
