Omaha Event Group creates unforgettable event experiences across four premier wedding and event venues located throughout Omaha—from Midtown to Downtown. Our versatile venues are designed to host everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations, and our behind-the-scenes team plays a huge role in making each event shine.

About the Role

Event Leads play a key role in preparing our venues and executing seamless, memorable events. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, leading a team, and overseeing events from setup through close.

Responsibilities

Event Leadership & Execution

  • Lead staff during event setup, execution, and breakdown

  • Set up events according to event documentation, floor plans, and planner direction

  • Oversee and execute event timelines provided by the Event Director

  • Supervise rehearsals and early setups (including day-before setups)

  • Have ability to bartend fast paced events to assist bartenders when needed

  • Lead venue transitions, including flipping the space from ceremony to reception

Team & Vendor Coordination

  • Check in with all outside vendors before, during, and after events

  • Manage dynamic team of event staff

  • Be comfortable handling cash drawers, tip distribution, and monetary reporting

  • Complete employee dismissal checklists

Facility & Operations Oversight

  • Accept beer and alcohol deliveries on Thursdays and Fridays

  • Balance bar drawers at the end of events

  • Lead and manage outside vendors to ensure venue protocol is followed

  • Be comfortable following closing protocol

  • Complete incident reports and notify management as needed

Maintenance & Standards

  • Regularly inspect the building and report equipment failures, maintenance concerns, and cleaning standard issues

  • Assist with venue maintenance and improvement projects

Communication & Planning

  • Attend and lead weekly, quarterly, and annual team meetings

  • Provide setup detailing team with place-setting instructions by Friday

  • Verify all place settings are accurate before leaving Friday evening

Work may take place at any of our Omaha venues:

  • Omaha Design Center – 1502 Cuming St

  • Garden Room – 1502 Cuming St

  • Empire Room – 200 S 31st Ave #4107 (Midtown Crossing)

  • Leo Ballroom – 2027 Dodge St

Schedule & Commitment

  • Seasonal position: March 1 – December 31 (10 months)

  • Flexible hours required, including evenings and weekends as needed for events

  • Required 26 hours per week with an additional 10-15 hours on weekends, dependent on event bookings

  • Pay starting at $18/hour based on experience

Candidate Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between venues

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable standing and being on your feet for multiple hours

  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude

  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks

  • Flexible and dependable
