Omaha Event Group creates unforgettable event experiences across four premier wedding and event venues located throughout Omaha—from Midtown to Downtown. Our versatile venues are designed to host everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations, and our behind-the-scenes team plays a huge role in making each event shine.

About the Role

The Event Planner plays a key role in preparing our hosts for a memorable event. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys planning, advising, organizing, and communicating with customers to provide a path to creating their dream event.

Responsibilities

Communication & Planning

  • Conduct event planning meetings with clients using the designated tools and processes

  • Manage all client communication from booking through event completion

  • Sell event upgrades to achieve sales goals

  • Prepare detailed and accurate event documentation for the Event Team

  • Support and collaborate with Event Leads in completing accurate and timely event set ups

  • Validate accurate event setups by walking each venue on Tuesday evenings

  • Attend weekly, quarterly, and annual team meetings

Event Leadership & Execution (One Event per Month)

  • Oversee and execute event timelines as provided by the Event Planner (you)

  • Assist bartenders during fast-paced events as needed

  • Lead venue transitions, including flipping the space from ceremony to reception

  • Manage and support a dynamic team of event staff

  • Handle cash drawers, tip distribution, and monetary reporting accurately

  • Complete employee dismissal checklists

  • Balance bar drawers at the conclusion of events

  • Lead and manage outside vendors to ensure venue protocols are followed

  • Follow and execute venue closing procedures

  • Complete incident reports and notify management as required

Work will take place at all of our venues. Please make sure you are able to commute to these locations:

  • Omaha Design Center – 1502 Cuming St

  • Garden Room – 1502 Cuming St

  • Empire Room – 200 S 31st Ave #4107 (Midtown Crossing)

  • Leo Ballroom – 2027 Dodge St

Schedule & Commitment

  • Full-year position

  • Flexible hours required, including evenings and weekends as needed for events

  • About 20 hours per week with required work on Tuesdays after 2pm, Fridays, and Saturdays 3pm-12am and flexibility throughout the week

  • Pay starting at $18/hour based on experience

Candidate Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between venues

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable standing and being on your feet for multiple hours

  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude

  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks

  • Flexible and dependable
